As another former barista, this. It’s performative (you pay for the person behind you, they pay for the person behind them, that means only one person pays for two or doesn’t pay for theirs……) and the order tracking systems aren’t set up to handle it, which means that the baristas are getting yelled at for what they’re tracked on, which is order time length, and they don’t have the systems to keep track of multiple orders so order accuracy suffers and it’s just a whole mess.
For everyone who’s mad about being told this, first of all fuck off when you don’t know what you’re talking about, and second, why are you mad? If someone tells you that your well intended action doesn’t work, why are you mad at them instead of thinking okay, now I’ll try something else?
i think this website needs to seriously separate itself from its idea that non-binary = they/them because i saw someone very earnestly say today that some non-binary people use gendered pronouns too and their examples were he/they and she/they non-binary people which like. yeah. but some of us do not use they/them at all and it would be nice to see a little more recognition about that. i’ve even had (presumably) other non-binary people suggest i’m “basically a man” because i only use he/him pronouns.
i feel like this also goes for headcanons and oc making too like just because a character is non-binary doesn’t mean they have to use only they/them and idk i think it would just be nice to see more acknowledgement of he/him and she/her non-binary people as well as non-binary people who don’t use conventional pronouns at all.
